In early November, Sandy Goyette presented an invited talk at the 2016 Jensen Symposium on Breast Cancer, at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. Ms. Goyette is a graduate student in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and conducts research in Dr. Salman Hyder’s laboratory at the Dalton Cardiovascular Research Center. The title of her presentation was “Progestins induce stem-cell like properties in hormone-dependent human breast cancer cells”. Sandy was the only graduate student at the Symposium whose abstract was honored by the selection committee for platform presentation. Co-authors of this study included Drs. Yayun Liang and Salman Hyder from Biomedical Sciences and DCRC, and Moiz Munir, an undergraduate student from the Department of Biological Sciences, MU.
